Mr. David Carroll, Director of Training Programs for Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), was invited to speak at the Malibu/Mirage Owners and Pilots Association (MMOPA) annual convention. This event, held October 30th to November 2nd, 2013, at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, highlighted the MMOPA’s serious attention to aviation safety. There were over 330 individuals attending this event! The attentive audience asked some great questions after the presentation.
Mr. Carroll made a one-hour presentation to an audience that included owner-pilots and their companions on the topic that remains the number one killer in General Aviation: Loss of Control-Inflight (LOC-I). David focused his presentation on the need for Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) and the elements found in an effective UPRT program. David considered the MMOPA’s safety briefings a huge success due to their selection of a variety of very qualified presenters covering a broad range of topics.
