ORLANDO, Fla. – April 22, 2015 – Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), an Arizona-based flight training organization, announced today at the 2015 World Aviation Training Conference and Trade Show (WATS), their selection by Delta Air Lines as its development partner for advanced handling and pilot Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) programs for the global airline. Type-specific jet training programs are being developed for each of eight airplane types flown by Delta Air Lines.

The advanced training provides pilots with increased skills and knowledge designed to prevent developing upset conditions and ensuring correct recovery responses to upsets. According to a report issued by Boeing in August 2014, the Commercial Aviation Safety Team’s statistical research identifies the unusual conditions addressed by this training as global aviation’s top safety concern. “Delta embraces the critical importance of providing our pilots with advanced training to maintain air travel as the safest mode of transportation,” said Captain Jon Tovani – Managing Director, Flight Training at Delta. “APS is the best choice to assist us in meeting our simulator instructor and line-pilot training needs.”

“APS is honored to partner with Delta which is at the forefront of maximizing the safety of its flight operations,” said Paul Ransbury, President of APS. “It is the responsibility of commercial aviation operators worldwide to implement and maintain the recently-mandated, industry-standardized loss of control in-flight solutions. Together, APS and Delta are partnering to provide the airline’s pilots with the additional knowledge and practical skills needed to safely respond to possible, but rare situations encountered in flight.” Learn more about: APS Airline Upset Prevention & Recovery Training
