Mesa, Arizona (PRWeb) – August 9, 2018 – Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), the global leader in Upset Prevention & Recovery Training (UPRT), is pleased to announce delivery of the 2018 Upset Prevention and Recovery Training Scholarship course to Jake Ribbe, a student and dispatch manager at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
Jake is currently working toward a B.S. in Professional Flight with a Maintenance Concentration, and he recently completed an aviation internship with a major corporation. Jake is also a new Certified Flight Instructor, and this focused training in Upset Prevention and Recovery that he has just completed has augmented Jake’s extensive preparation for an outstanding career in aviation with the advanced experience and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, or if necessary, overcome an unexpected Loss of Control In-flight.
Every year APS donates one Professional Pilot Upset Training Course, a $5900 value, to a deserving pilot currently in flight school or just starting their professional aviation career. The course provides comprehensive Upset Prevention and Recovery Training, integrating academics and on-aircraft instruction to mitigate the risk of Loss of Control-Inflight (LOC-I), the number one cause of fatalities across all sectors of aviation. Properly delivered UPRT compliments licensing training by ensuring pilots have a deep understanding of upset causes – with critical focus on prevention – and are trained to proficiency in the skills necessary to recover from a developed airplane upset. Because the manual inputs necessary to recover from an unexpected LOC-I are often counterintuitive and complicated by human factors such as startle and surprise, UPRT is critical for pilots to be fully prepared for any unexpected, time-critical flight situation.
“Any pilot knows the potential and the weight of LOC-I incidents,” said Jake Ribbe. “APS certainly possesses the fantastic platforms, in combination with phenomenal instructor resumes to provide what I gather to be the cutting edge of upset training. I had optimistically high expectations for my time here, and they were far exceeded.”
“Even seasoned pilots with thousands of flight hours find UPRT to be an incredible educational and confidence building experience, so for a young pilot like Jake to get this training early in his career is an important accomplishment that will greatly benefit him and all who fly with him,” said Paul Ransbury, President of APS. “We are honored to give back to the aviation industry through this annual scholarship program as we strive to fulfill APS’ purpose to help pilots bring everyone home safely.”
APS offers upset prevention & recovery training to all sectors of aviation: airline, military/government, corporate, owner/operator and flight schools.
