Original Press Release at PRWeb: Embraer Jet Operators Partner with APS Upset Training
The Embraer Jet Operators Association has partnered with Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) to provide industry-leading Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) services to its members to overcome Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I). The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has placed LOC-I in the top aviation position of its 2016 Most Wanted List of safety concerns.
Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) is defined as flight that occurs outside of the normal flight envelope with an inability of the pilot to control the aircraft. In a presentation delivered to the NBAA Safety Committee in January 2016 by the NTSB, LOC-I was identified as the primary category of accident in every segment of aviation including personal, instructional, business and corporate flying sectors. As the NTSB’s top aviation safety concern in its 2016 Most Wanted List, LOC-I accounts for more than 40% of all fatalities in general aviation. According to the FAA’s website, a fatal LOC-I accident occurs every four days in the United States. APS’s global network of dedicated flight schools specialize in effectively delivered UPRT which mitigates the LOC-I threat to air safety through pilot education and practical skill development.
“After speaking at the Embraer Executive Jets Safety Standdown in January 2016, it was evident that Embraer is passionately devoted to the on-going safety of its diverse customer base. APS is honored by the opportunity to establish a safety-focused partnership with the Embraer Jet Operators Association,” says Paul BJ Ransbury, president of Aviation Performance Solutions. “Together, we will take firm and progressive steps forward to maximize air safety and provide EJOA members with the information, resources and training programs necessary to ultimately overcome aviation’s leading fatal threat to air safety, Loss of Control In-flight.”
