Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS) is collaborating with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to enhance public air safety. This all-new multi-region global initiative gives guidance to airlines and aviation authorities on the effective implementation of the ICAO Manual on Aeroplane Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) developed to comprehensively address Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) – commercial aviation’s leading cause of fatal accidents.
Original Release: APS Assists ICAO to Boost Public Air Safety Globally
Mesa, Arizona (PRWeb) August 25, 2015
Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), a global flight training organization specializing in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) and Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) solutions, announced today the successful completion of its first collaboration in an official International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) educational event in a series of international public air safety seminars. APS is assisting ICAO as the UN aviation body seeks to provide clear guidance to national aviation authorities around the world on the implementation of the ICAO Manual on Aeroplane Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT).
LOC-I is generally defined as an adverse flight condition that has placed an airplane outside of the normal flight envelope with a potential inability of the pilot to control the airplane using traditional pilot skills. According to an August 2014 Boeing report, LOC-I is the number one cause of fatalities in commercial aviation worldwide over the past 10 years. Effectively delivered ICAO-compliant UPRT reduces the risk Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) to the traveling public and substantially improves air safety.
APS assisted in delivering ICAO UPRT messaging in Nairobi, Kenya in mid-July and most recently in Istanbul, Turkey last week through a series of educational sessions over several days. The Istanbul event additionally included advanced simulator UPRT demonstrations to airlines, regulators, and global training experts concerning the recently published ICAO Manual on Aeroplane UPRT. “APS is honored to join ICAO on its year-long global initiative to educate the commercial aviation industry on the effective implementation of comprehensive and industry-compliant upset prevention and recovery training”, said Paul BJ Ransbury, the President of Aviation Performance Solutions. “The APS vision of ‘Every Pilot Trained – In Control – All The Time’ is in perfect alignment with ICAO’s goal of improving air safety worldwide on a variety of critical issues which include LOC-I”.
Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), headquartered at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona, trains thousands of professional pilots and instructors in comprehensive upset prevention and recovery training skill development.
