Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS) has awarded the 2022 Upset Prevention & Recovery Training Scholarship to Emily Hogenson, a student at LeTourneau University. The annual scholarship offers a deserving pilot the opportunity to complete the Professional Pilot Upset Training Course, which teaches pilots the time-critical skills they need to overcome an unexpected airplane upset and mitigate the risk of Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I), the number one fatal threat across all sectors of aviation.
Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), the global leader in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), is pleased to announce that we have awarded the 2022 Upset Prevention and Recovery Training Scholarship to Emily Hogenson, a student at LeTourneau University.
Each year, APS awards the UPRT Scholarship to a deserving pilot currently in flight school or just starting their professional aviation career. The course provides comprehensive training integrating academics and on-aircraft instruction to mitigate the risk of Loss of Control-Inflight (LOC-I), the number one cause of fatalities across all sectors of aviation.
Emily is an aviation management major with a professional flight concentration and aircraft dispatch minor. Her impressive resume reflects the achievements and focus of a true safety champion who has made and will continue to make a positive impact on the aviation community.
“While UPRT and recurrent training are critical for all pilots, new pilots will find that it significantly improves overall airmanship and manual handling skills as the pilot learns the techniques to recognize, prevent, and recover from an unexpected airplane upset,” said Paul Ransbury, CEO of APS. “Awarding this scholarship to an up and coming safety champion like Emily provides APS an important opportunity to give back to aviation as we drive toward our purpose: We Help Pilots Bring Everyone Home Safely.”
