Mesa, Arizona (PRWEB) June 4, 2021 – Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), a global provider of Upset Prevention & Recovery Training (UPRT), is pleased to award the 2021 Upset Prevention and Recovery Training Scholarship to Elizabeth “Scottie” Manzo, recent graduate of the Auburn University Professional Flight program.
Elizabeth’s broad interest in everything aviation was sparked by her pilot grandfather and has driven her to become an accomplished pilot already using her CFI and CFII licenses to flight instruct for Auburn University. Her career and personal aspirations include flying for a Fortune 500 corporate flight department and learning aerobatics.
Every year, APS offers its UPRT scholarship valued at over $6,000 to a deserving pilot currently in flight school or just starting their professional aviation career. The Professional Pilot Upset Training Course provides comprehensive UPRT, integrating academics and on-aircraft instruction to mitigate the risk of Loss of Control-Inflight (LOC-I), the number one cause of fatalities across all sectors of aviation. Properly delivered UPRT compliments certification training by ensuring pilots have a deep understanding of upset causes – with critical focus on prevention – and are trained to proficiency in the often-counterintuitive skills necessary to recover from a developed airplane upset. Moreover, this training provides a condensed yet intense training experience that greatly improves overall handling skills.
“Upset Prevention and Recovery Training not only fills in a training gap to help pilots develop the skills to prevent or overcome LOC-I,” said Paul ‘BJ’ Ransbury, CEO of APS, “But it also provides a solid foundation of advanced manual handling skill development and practice which gives new pilots significantly increased confidence and ability to expertly handle in-flight situations that may develop.”
