Mesa, Arizona (PRWEB) July 23, 2013
– Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), a specialized professional pilot flight school, announced today the release of its Train-the-Trainer Jet Upset Simulator Instructor Program to FAA-regulated airlines. This APS program is uniquely designed to assist airlines and airline transport pilot training center instructors to comprehensively comply with the portion of Public Law 111-216 Section 208 by US Congress related to stall and upset training. This law requires Part 121 air carriers to provide crewmembers with improved upset recovery and stall training in a particular make, model, and series of aircraft.

The APS Jet Upset Simulator Instructor Program integrates iPad-based knowledge tools and gives Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) instructors a broad understanding of the specific teachings and methodologies of the industry-endorsed Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid (AURTA) and other regulatory resources. This APS program ultimately evaluates instructional performance and prepares instructors to develop their own type-specific regulatory-compliant stall and upset recovery training courses. The academic and practical training requirements of FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 61-138, specific to stall / upset prevention and recovery training, are also addressed. This AC targets ATP Certification Training Program providers under FAA Part 121, 135, 141, and 142. Effectively delivered, stall and AURTA-compliant instruction to aircrews mitigates the Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) threat to the traveling public. According to a July 2012 report by Boeing, LOC-I is the leading cause of crash-related fatalities in commercial aviation worldwide over the past 10 Years.
“APS has created a special program to teach Airplane Upset Recovery to instructors. It includes academics and techniques that the instructors can effectively teach to their students. This not only meets the Congressional crewmember training mandate but provides the right skills to pilots that find themselves in an upset condition,” said John Cox, President of Safety Operating Systems, the former Executive Air Safety Chairman for the Air Line Pilots Association, a member of the Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid team, and an International Air Transport Association trained Airline Auditor. “Using new iPad LOC-I technology in conjunction with actual airplane upset training, including jet training, is the most effective way for pilots and instructors to lower the risk of a loss of control event”.

Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), with headquarters at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (Mesa, Arizona), has trained thousands of pilots in fully comprehensive upset recovery skill development, more than any other training organization. For two decades, APS has been committed to giving instructors and pilots of all experience and skill levels the highest quality stall and upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) available. APS offers comprehensive Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) solutions via industry-leading web-based and iPad-based academic instruction, real piston and jet on-aircraft UPRT, train-the-trainer courses, and full flight simulator upset recovery training programs. With locations in the Netherlands, Texas, and Arizona, APS is the only Part 141 Flight School currently certified in the delivery of complete upset recovery, stall/spin and instrument recovery training courses. APS upset recovery training courses are each in compliance with the internationally-recognized Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid – Revision 2 and FAA Aviation Circular 120-109 on Stall and Stick Pusher Training.
