Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS) has awarded the 2019 Upset Prevention & Recovery Training Scholarship to Robin Spaulding, a student at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. The annual scholarship offers a deserving pilot the opportunity to complete the Professional Pilot Upset Training Course, which teaches pilots the time-critical skills they need to overcome an unexpected airplane upset and mitigate the risk of Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I), the number one fatal threat across all sectors of aviation.

Mesa, Arizona (PRWeb) August 8, 2019 — Aviation Performance Solutions LLC (APS), the global leader in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), is pleased to announce that 2019 Upset Prevention and Recovery Training Scholarship winner Robin Spaulding has completed the Professional Pilot Upset Training Course course.

A 4.0 student at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, Robin is a dedicated member of numerous flight organizations such as AOPA and Women in Aviation. After graduation, Robin plans to enter the Foreign Service, where she hopes to use her skills as a pilot to make a positive difference in the world. As a survivor of an airplane accident that nearly took her life as well as the life of her instructor, Robin is especially passionate about safety and knows first-hand the importance of getting Upset Prevention and Recovery Training.

“I highly recommend UPRT to any pilot no matter where they are in their training or what their career goals are,“ said Robin. “The knowledge and skill sets gained during this training broadly apply and real world examples illustrate the effect an upset can have on a pilot or aircraft.”

Each year, APS awards the UPRT Scholarship to a deserving pilot currently in flight school or just starting their professional aviation career. The course provides comprehensive training integrating academics and on-aircraft instruction to mitigate the risk of Loss of Control-Inflight (LOC-I), the number one cause of fatalities across all sectors of aviation.

“Upset Prevention and Recovery Training is critical for pilots regardless of their time or experience flying, and new pilots can especially benefit from this training, because it significantly improves overall airmanship and manual handling skills as the pilot learns the techniques to recognize, prevent, and recover from an unexpected airplane upset,” said Paul Ransbury, President of APS. “We were pleased to award this scholarship to Robin, a conscientious and ambitious pilot who is on a path to make a positive difference in the world.”
