In some cases pilots or flight departments may have a need or desire to receive UPRT in a Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) alone. While this necessarily limits some aspects of UPRT instruction, no other training provider in the world has more experience with simulator-based Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) than APS. Our instructors are cross qualified in both airplane and simulator training delivery. When providing instruction in the virtual environment they can personally convey the human factor impacts that are present in flight. They are experts at using flight simulation platforms within their valid training envelopes, and in mitigating the possibility of negative training which can occur if instructors are not well versed in the limitations posed in delivering UPRT in simulators. As with all APS training, a systematic, building block approach provides an academic basis for practical elements trained in the simulator.
This one day program of instruction includes:
- Preparatory web-based self-study course to include all aspects of the industry-recognized Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid
- 3 hours of on-site academic training introducing detailed background aerodynamics and practical upset recovery techniques
- A culminating 4-hour advanced simulator multi-engine glass cockpit upset-specific session with an expert APS instructor (includes 4 simulator hours for a crew of 2)
