"The APS Advanced Extra 300L
checkout course was simply spectacular. I
initially joined the program to participate
in the basic checkout but quickly made the
decision to take the entire week-long
session. The APS instructors are incredible
aerobatic pilots, expert Extra 300L
operators and, more importantly in this type
of training, they are world class
instructors that are clearly the best of the
best. It's a privilege to receive
military-quality training as a civilian."

Description
|
|
This 5-Day 10-Mission customized course of
training is broken down into three phases;
Aircraft Traffic Pattern Training, Safety Training and Customized
Aerobatics Training. Combined, the outlines
below give you a general overview of what to
expect during your week of aerobatics at
APS. This can be a demanding program both
mentally and physically. Please be sure to
allow yourself sufficient time for rest
and study after each flying day. |
|
PHASE 1: SAFETY TRAINING |
Days: 1, 2 & 3
3-Day 5-Mission Safety Course:
Emergency Maneuver Training
|
Let's
work both the traffic pattern and the
training area simultaneously. As an aerobatic pilot it is critically
important to realize that safety
training must absolutely come first and
be the priority before
focusing on aerobatics flying
exclusively. With this first series of
training sessions, we integrate a full
tailwheel checkout program and
high-performance handling course. In fact, as in every
endeavor requiring expertise, consistently
re-enforcing the fundamental principles, basic
aerobatics maneuver execution and
botched maneuver recovery techniques
must remain a priority throughout your
aerobatic career. This is true regardless of the level
of flying you aspire to or ultimately achieve.
Our 5-Day Power Aerobatics
Indoctrination Course is ideally suited
to laying the foundation to a lifetime
of safe flying. The entire
first half of your training at APS,
consisting of our highly acclaimed
standard APS Emergency Maneuver Training
program, will ensure you are
academically prepared and practically
skilled with all the tools needed for
accelerated learning to any level. In
addition to botched maneuver recovery,
the aerobatic maneuvers included in this
segment of your training consists of the
entry, execution and recovery techniques
of the following maneuvers; loop,
aileron roll, inverted flight, split-s,
cuban eight, immelmann, hammerhead,
upright spin, inverted spin, aggravated
spin modes to include accelerated flat
spins. |
|
PHASE 2: CUSTOMIZED AEROBATICS TRAINING |
Days: 4 & 5
2-Day 4-Mission Custom Aerobatics |
With the
traffic pattern work, botched maneuver and spin
recovery training completed, it's now time to decide where you want
your training to go. If any additional
work is required on aircraft handling in
the traffic pattern then portions of
this segment can be dedicated to that
effort. The preparation
afforded you through the Emergency
Maneuver Training has armed you with all
the knowledge and safety skills
necessary to confidently proceed in any direction.
Basic aerobatics, spins (upright &
inverted) and aggravated
spins have already been covered
extensively to this
point. Prior to starting your customized
sessions you will spend about 30-minutes with your assigned APS
instructor to layout a training plan
for your final days of aerobatics flying. The typical direction taken by
participants is usually one of the
following:
- Recreational
- Competition
- Air Show
You can choose any content for your

limited to, this small sampling:
