APS Master Instructor Pilots

APS is the Global Leader is MCFI-As

The MCFI Master Certified Flight Instructor achievement is an essential requirement for an APS Instructor Pilot (IP). All APS IPs must receive this designation by the end of their first year with APS (by the first anniversary of their hire date) to continue as an APS IP, and must keep the designation current throughout their service with APS.

Community and Safety Conscious, Caring Professionals

The MCFI-A (Aerobatic) achievement represents a true dedication to excellence in flying and safety. Master Instructors LLC relates, “There are approximately 101,000 CFIs in the United States. Fewer than 800 aviation educators worldwide have achieved one or more of the Master accreditations thus far and … only 40 worldwide have earned the aerobatic accreditation.” APS Hits Record Master CFIs.

About the Master Instructor Designation

The Master Instructor designation is a national accreditation recognized by the FAA. Candidates must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to excellence, professional growth, and service to the aviation community, and must pass a rigorous evaluation by a peer Board of Review. The process parallels the continuing education regimen used by other professionals to enhance their knowledge base while increasing their professionalism. Designees are recognized as outstanding aviation educators for not only their excellence in teaching, but for their engagement in the continuous process of learning — both their own, and their students’. The designation must be renewed biennially and significantly surpasses the FAA requirements for renewal of the candidate’s flight instructor certificate.

What’s the Value to You the Customer and the Industry?

APS fully supports and applauds the diversity of industry participation, charity work, and professional development espoused by the Master Instructors’ Master CFI – Aerobatic accreditation. Achievement of the Master CFI- Aerobatic designation aligns with many APS values, such as caring, serving, and seeking continual personal growth. Additionally, the accreditation provides a great advantage in the industry from both an instructor quality and industry leadership perspective. Supporting high standards for UPRT instructors ultimately sets the bar high for all providers in the industry, promoting excellence and safer operations.

MCFI – Why is this Important to APS?

ICAO, IATA, the FAA, EASA, and other industry bodies are unanimous in the consensus that the most critical elements of effective UPRT solutions to Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) hinge upon the expertise of the instructor. APS has recognized that the Master CFI – Aerobatic accreditation is fundamental to providing a meaningful standard of excellence for APS instructors as well as highlighting their unique skill set in the marketplace.  Currently, there is no other training organization in the world with more MCFI-A pilots than APS.
